Want to know how to tie a scarf?

It has been quite a while since I posted a blog.  Things have been pretty busy!  However, our video on how to tie a scarf is finally finished!

I have noticed that it is getting a little cold in the mornings, and in the evenings on the ferry on the way home.  Our fair trade silk scarves look great with both casual and business wear, they breathe beautifully, and they are perfect for this time of year where it is too warm for a woolen scarf but too cold to go without.  Check out 5 different ways to tie a video at the link below.

OMG it's only one month until Christmas!

I don't know about you, but for me time seems to be flying at a rapid rate.  This whole year I have felt a little behind, like a peak hour commuter at a platform watching the train pulling out.  Time is moving on and I  need to catch up.  We are only one month out from Christmas and there is really no denying it.  My kids are already singing Christmas carols, they have watched Polar Express twice in the past week, and have written their Christmas wish lists.  I went for a drink after soccer tonight and even the local pub had its Christmas decorations out and a Christmas tree set up.

If you are looking to send gifts overseas for Christmas now is a good time to do it.  They should get there in plenty of time.  My new fair trade scarves make great Christmas gifts, at around 100 grams each they are very cheap to send overseas, they are a good price and are also very compact.  Jewelery is also easy to send as it is small and light weight.  Anyway I am sure we will be bombarded with Christmas messages over the next month, and by Christmas we will all be ready for a good holiday.  Ho ho ho!! The Online Store is Officially Launched

On Sunday night I had a little gathering  to launch the Under the Tamarind Tree online store.  The great thing was that when I looked around I realised that so many of the people at the launch were friends and loyal customers of mine who had supported my business since it first started a couple of years ago.  You couldn't really ask for a better way to do a launch.  There were also a few unknown faces as well which was great.

The bubbles poured, jewellery and scarves were tried on, and everyone had a great time.  The silver jewellery was particularly popular.  I also received positive feedback on my new stock and the slightly different and slightly more quirky styles of jewellery.  It is always good to know that people like what you sell.  All in all, it was a great success.
